Greetings from the world of Fish and Chips!
In case you missed it...last week design label, Dashing Tweeds, hosted a wonderful lecture presentation as part of the 'Fish and Chips, Twice Please?!' accompanying programme.
Dashing Tweeds is a London based, contemporary tweed textile company designed by photographer, Guy Hills, and weaver Kirsty McDougall. With ranges including 'Urban Tweeds', 'Sporting Tweeds' and 'Poaching Tweeds' the design duo mix up the proud tradition of tailoring entwined with experimental new ideas and techniques.
The presentation took place within the exhibition in the freiraum quartier21 INTERNATIONAL and covered topics including weaving techniques and textile construction.
Be sure to catch our next programme feature which takes place on Monday June 21st at 7pm, a round table discussion titled 'London as a hub for Fresh Fashion Talent.' The event features Alison Clarke (Design Historian, University of Applied Arts Vienna) and Oriole Cullen (Curator, Fashion in Motion, Victoria and Albert Museum, London.)
Entry is free and we look forward to welcoming you in the gallery space!
Love and Vinegar,
Team Fish and Chips
