Greetings from Fish and Chips HQ!
This weekend saw the rotation of the 'Fish and Chips, Twice Please?!' temporary showcase. As part of our accompanying programme, Austrian designer Petra Kraeutner of Pebelle, took over the space and created a static installation of her work. In keeping with our ethos of generating a creative bridge between Vienna and the UK, Petra is our first local designer to feature as part of the temporary showcase.
Pebelle is a brand that presents a contemporary perspective on the tradition of tie dye through using self-developed dyeing techniques and combining them with established methods. Her intricate work is inspired by urban atmospheres and has been featured in international publications and media including: ELLE UK, Flare Canada, Agent Lover and L'Exposure Berlin.
Projects and collaborations include partnership with brand, 'Superated' to create stage costumes for KÖNIG ÖDIPUS Play at Theater Spielraum in Vienna, textile collaboration with Emma Bell for SS09 and costume design for VUM video shoot filmed in California.
Her work retails globally and stockists include: Samstag Vienna, Dahl Collection USA, Coloured Earth Fashion Store UK and Pret-a-Couture Berlin.
